There was a lack of legroom, but after you get going you don't notice it at all.

Roughly 95 miles from Vegas to Baker, CA via 15 South. 15 South ends in Baker, CA, where you pick up Rt127.

6-speed shifter was nice, but the throws were a little far. Everything felt very precise and tight in the Boxster. The cupholders, at least on this 2001 model, sucked my anus.

The scenery is worth every minute, though.

At first it's all flat, with mountains in the distance. Then you get a little closer.

Route 127 - Death Valley Junction

Route 127 ends at Death Valley Junction, where you can pick up State Road something or other, or Route 190, which will take you right to the Furnace Creek Inn.

There's also an opera house and hotel at the Death Valley Junction.
